Le Château de Sauveterre is situated in the Gers departement in the south-west of France, approximately 50 kilometres south west of Toulouse, roughly three quarters of an hour travelling time from Blagnac airport. It is set in a ten hectare park, containing woodland, football pitches, hardcourts and a swimming pool and is just below Sauveterre Village—a hilltop settlement, with fine views across to the Pyrenees. It is three kilometers from the nearest small town, Lombez.

NB: Please be aware that if you are using GPS navigation, that there are several "Sauveterre" villages in France. Make sure it is the correct one, in the Gers (postcode 32220).

Directions From Lombez:

From the traffic lights in the centre of the town, head south-west on the D632. Once you have left the town the road becomes straight. Continue past the turnings for the Château de Barbet (which has holiday chalets in its grounds) and Sauveterre Village. Roughly 500 metres after this turning, there is a small white sign on the right hand side with 'Domaine de Sauveterre' written on it. Continue straight up this drive, which leads you  through the woods and into the Park.

Directions From Toulouse:

Follow the N124 in the Direction of Auch. After the first L'Isle Jourdain turn off, take the slip road sign posted Lombez - Samatan and go down to the roundabout and then head south on the D634 towards Samatan. Continue on the D632 past Samatan and then through Lombez. Then proceed as above.

From Auch: Head east (towards Toulouse) on the N124. Turn off the N124 on the slip road sign posted Lombez - Samatan, head down to the roundabout and take the D634 south towards Samatan. Then as above.

From Carcassonne: Head towards Toulouse on the A61. On approaching Toulouse, follow the ring road (Le Rocade) west and north towards Blagnac Airport, before turning west onto the N124 in the direction of Auch. Then proceed as above (From Toulouse).

From Tarbes: Head south-east towards Lannemezan. Then take the D17 north-east towards L'Isle-en-Dodon. Upon entering the town you will come to a T-junction and have to stop. Turn left here and then follow this road out of the town. After about 5 kilometres you join the D632 towards Lombez. Continue past the small road leading up to Sauveterre Village. The main road bends to the left and there is a large grey mill off to the right. After the bend you crest a small rise and the road becomes dead straight. The entrance to the Château is on the left, 100 metres after the rise, immediately before the main farm buildings.

If you don't fancy the drive, you could always get a taxi from the airport. Sauveterre parents have access to a special rate from a 5 star taxi service. The cost of 120 euros for a one way trip from the airport to school (or vice versa) is less than you would pay from getting a taxi from the airport, plus you will enjoy the most comfortable ride possible.
